World Emoji Day is an annual unofficial holiday occurring on 17 July, intended to celebrate emoji; in the years since the earliest observance, it has become a popular date to make product or other announcements and releases relating to emoji.
Emoji is the fastest growing language in history. Every day we use emoji on Facebook, Twitter, message, etc. World Emoji Day is celebrated on 17 July and is a day of celebration of all emojis. Let us have a look at the history, who created emoji first and when, how is it celebrated, and what are new features of emojis that are introduced this year.
World Emoji Day History
Shigetaka Kurita created first ever emoji in 1999 where he was working in team that focuses on mobile internet platform where he distributed the first 175 pixel emoji’s. The first emoji was used in Japan.
In July 2013, Jeremy Burge founded a website called Emojipedia, where you can find meaning, usage, and references of all emojis. You can also call it a Dictionary of emojis. He came up with the idea of creating an emojipedia, when Apple added new emojis on its platform (iOS 6), but didn’t mentioned which were the newly added emojis. And to capture the Japanese market, the iPhone introduced a keyboard which included emoji that was released in 2007. However, the same was not introduced in the U.S. but they later figured out how to use the same.

जुलाई 2013 में, जेरेमी बर्ज ने इमोजीपीडिया नामक एक वेबसाइट की स्थापना की, जहां आप सभी इमोजी के अर्थ, उपयोग और संदर्भ पा सकते हैं। इसे आप डिक्शनरी ऑफ इमोजीस भी कह सकते हैं। वह एक इमोजीपीडिया बनाने के विचार के साथ आया, जब ऐप्पल ने अपने प्लेटफॉर्म (आईओएस 6) पर नए इमोजी जोड़े, लेकिन यह उल्लेख नहीं किया कि नए जोड़े गए इमोजी कौन से थे। और जापानी बाजार पर कब्जा करने के लिए, iPhone ने एक कीबोर्ड पेश किया जिसमें इमोजी शामिल था जिसे 2007 में जारी किया गया था। हालाँकि, इसे यू.एस. में पेश नहीं किया गया था, लेकिन बाद में उन्हें पता चला कि इसका उपयोग कैसे किया जाए।
